Team support staff

EA High Performance Staff support our Australian Equestrian Team members both domestically and internationally through various initiatives and programmes, pathways, and squad opportunities.

HP Staff also work closely with Selectors and Team Support crews. HP Sport Managers assist international based Australian riders with FEI entries and related administration requirements.  

Will Enzinger, High-Performance Director 

Will oversees the entire program as High-Performance Director. This includes oversight in the management of, and collaboration with, relevant stakeholders of the disciplines of Dressage, Driving, Endurance, Eventing, Jumping, Vaulting and Para-EquestrianAn Equestrian athlete and coach, Will is  well equipped to lead the future of  Australian Equestrian High-Performance sport. 

Nick Hunter, High-Performance Para-Equestrian Lead 

Nick is responsible for coordinating the overall Para-Equestrian programme, including the design and implementation of program strategy and planning. Nick joined the team in early 2022 following the EA HP Tokyo review process highlighting a need for additional leadership support to ensure the discipline remains on track to achieve podium targets. Nick has over 25 years’ experience in the sporting sector including Performance Manager and consultant at the AIS as well as considerable experience in Paralympic sports. 

Ruth Trevallion, High-Performance Athlete Wellbeing & Engagement Manager 

Ruth joined the team in late 2023. Sharing her expertise between equestrian and rowing, this role is new to EA. Ruth will provide leadership, guidance and resources to the HP riders with a focus on mental health and professional development. Ruth is passionate about sport and can be found competing in Triathlon events. 

Alison Alcock, High-Performance Support Manager 

Alison coordinates sport science and medicine services for the HP program. Alison holds a PhD in biomechanics and performance analysis. Alison works for the AIS, where she is a Network Lead in Performance Analysis at their National Performance Support Systems deptCollecting performance data as well as observing riders over the last few Olympic and World Championship campaigns has enabled Alison to help well over 45 Olympic and Paralympic medallists including EA HP riders be at their best and ready to perform.  

Erin O’Neill, High-Performance Eventing Manager (Eu based) 

Erin looks after all aspects of the HP Eventing programAustralian Eventing athletes competing in FEI events overseas should contact Erin for entries, qualifications, and general show information. Erin is a keen Eventing supporter, having competed internationally in the UK, Europe and Australia, making her well informed and qualified to provide EA riders with her knowledge of the discipline 

Dianne Saunders, High-Performance Dressage and Non-Olympics  Manager  

Di offers administration support to the HP Teamas well as supporting Dressage, Driving, Endurance and Vaulting athletes based internationally with their entries and other FEI related requirements. Having competed in Jumping as a young rider, most recently the sandpit is her preferred disciplineHer children rode through the Junior ranks in Eventing as teenagers, where Di still happily assists the OC of Sydney Int 3DE. Di can be found enjoying all equestrian disciplines in her spare time. 

Coco Miles, High-Performance Jumping Manager

Coco administers the HP Jumping athletes. Australian Jumping athletes competing in FEI events overseas should contact Coco for entries, qualifications and other questions relating to FEI events. Coco has held many positions on EA Committees both at State and National level, as well as holding the role of rider’s representative. A keen Jumping competitor often found at events along Australia’s east coast, she has also spent time working and training in Europe.  

Michelle Battams, High-Performance Para-Equestrian Operations Coordinator 

Michelle offers support to Nick and the Para-equestrian programme and is the key point of contact for all athletes both domestically and internationally. Michelle has been in the role since early 2023, following a break froma long career in EA HP while she pursed other interests. Michelle is responsible for operations and logistics including all major team campaigns, managing the coordination and delivery of Australia CPEDI events as well as the Athlete classification program.   

Andrew Barnett, High-Performance Pathways Coordinator, Eventing 

Andrew started with the team late 2023 and works on the implementation of the Eventing Pathways program for athletes categorised with the AIS. Andrew brings extensive experience to the role as a Professional rider, an EA Level 2 Jumping and Eventing Coachan EA Coach Educator and HP Competitive Edge Coach. Andrew also co-manages a successful Eventing stable with his wife. His coaching philosophy is always evolving, with a focus on technical aspectsDeveloping riders and supporting their dreams and goals through the highs and lows forms the basis of the pathway program Andrew plans to develop and grow.  

Amanda Ross, High-Performance Ambassador 

Amanda has been supporting HP Athletes on the programme since 2021. Amanda joined the team as part of an AIS awareness surrounding athlete wellbeing and a holistic approach in preparing athletes for not only success in the competition area but also a career with sustained longevityWith over 20 years competing at Elite level Eventingincluding competing at Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Amanda now balances her HP work at EA with competing at World Cup Jumping events.  Amanda is always keen to share her knowledge and her duties range from Chef d’equipe for HP Young eventing teams, supporting Vaulting Teams at World championships to seminars discussing Horse and Rider fitness to squad riders! 

Chris Webb, High-Performance Paris Advisor 

Formerly the HP Director, Chris brings much experience to the Olympic preparation and campaign. Chris will manage every aspect of the EA Olympic teams. 

Rachel Metcalfe, High-Performance Sports Operations Manager 

Rachel has a wealth of sport administration experience and will assist Chris with the many logistic and planning items required to bring the full teams, human and horse, representing Dressage, Eventing and Jumping to the Paris Olympic Games.
