National Jumping Selectors have announced the 2015 Jumping Recognition Squads ahead of a national squad clinic in March.
Recognition Squads will form part of a new two tiered squad structure which will be unveiled by Equestrian Australia next month. There will also be a High Performance squad category, of which the composition will be announced in the coming weeks.
Domestic riders who satisfy the criteria will be eligible for inclusion in one or more of the three Recognition squad groups – Senior, Futures and Young Rider.

Senior Squad Criteria
The squad will comprise domestic talented combinations performing at a consistent high level.
The squad will contain up to 10 athlete/horse combinations.
The squad will be compiled from the following:
- Top 6 ranked combinations (as at 31st January 2015) defined from domestic outdoor CSI-W 1* and 2* events
- The Australian Senior Champion
- Up to three (3) athlete/horse combinations chosen by selectors based on performance.

Futures Squad Criteria
The Futures Squad will comprise of:
Athlete and Horse (aged 7-9 years) combinations identified through performance over the Talent Identification Series.
Members of the Futures Squad are identified by the following:
- Finishing in the top 6 order of placing’s in the:
- 6 year old final 1.20-1.30m
- 7 year old final 1.30m-1.40m
- 8 year old final 1.35m-1.45m
Six (6) further combinations will be identified by the Selection Panel for inclusion on the Futures Squad 2016. The combinations will be identified as having the necessary qualities and a well-developed performance base to be future championship combinations.

Young Rider Elite Squad (16-21 years old) Criteria
Selection of the Young Rider Elite Squad is based on rider results from the National Young Rider Series 2014.
The squad will consist of 14 athletes from the Young Rider Series 2014 plus the current National Young Rider Champion*
As approved by the National Jumping Committee in February 2015, further combinations will be identified by the National Jumping Selection Panel for inclusion on the Young Rider Elite Squad.
