The Ariat Domestic Athlete of the Year recognises an athlete who has achieved one or more exceptional performances during 2014 while competing at events in Australia.

Shane Rose

Shane had another successful year in 2014 representing Australia at the FEI World Equestrian Games and winning both the Sydney and Melbourne International Horse Trials. At the Albury Horse Trials Shane won the three star, two star and one star events all on the one day. Shane also recorded wins at Goulburn, Camden and enjoyed numerous other placings. Shane is now looking ahead to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
