Kenya Wilson
Kenya started riding when she was 3 years old with Leone Baxter and had a lot of fun attending Pony Club and Dressage Club. She started riding competitively when she was 4 years old doing leadline. She then got a brilliant Jumping pony called Huckleberry and became bitten by the 'eventing bug'. The represented WA at National Interschools since 2007 and Pony Club National in 2011. Kenya has been a member of the EWA Beats Squad since 2007.
Now 18, she lives in Gidgegannup, Western Australia and studies at Curtin University. The riders who inspired her are Stuart Tinney (all success from Australia, great coach and mentor), Sonja Johnston (success from WA and a great mentor in WA). Kenya was awarded EAWA Rising Star in 2011, Valley Equine Young Event Rider of The Year in 2014, and ominee for ANZ Junior Sport Team Award (WA state team at Melbourne 2014). When she is not riding, Kenya studies and catches up with friends. Her mojo would be "just keep kicking". Her ambition for 2015 is to be competitive at Taupo CCI and complete a CIC3*.
