IRT International Horse of the Year

In equestrian sport there are two athletes that contribute equally to the results achieved – the rider and the horse.

The IRT International Horse of the Year award recognises a horse that has received one or more exceptional results competing overseas in 2014.

Boyd Exell’s four in hand team of

Winston, Curios, Spitfire, Rambo & Capone

In 2014 Boyd Exell’s Four in Hand team brought home the Gold medal at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, making it back to back wins for the team. WEG gold topped off a stellar year for the team who also took out the FEI World Cup Final in Bordeaux as well at the World Cup qualifiers in London Olympia, Geneva, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Horst and Sandringham. The Team was also second place at Aachen and Windsor.
Winston is a black gelding born in 2003, Curios is a KWPN black gelding born in the Netherlands in 2007, Spitfire 19 is a bay gelding born in 1994, Rambo 395 is a German black gelding born in 2000 and Capone II is a dark bay gelding born in 1998 by Contender.
