2024 Australian Dressage Championships
Last week saw the 2024 Australian Dressage Championships run at Sydney International Equestrian Centre with many of Australia's top combinations taking to the sand.
Congratulations to all winners and placegetters across the four days of competition with a special mention to:
Robbie McKinnon & ‘SPH Fortino’ who had a clean sweep of the FEI Small Tour: winning the Prix St. Georges, Intermediate I and Intermediate I Freestyle with scores of 76.765%, 73.676% and 77.695%.
Bridgette Dalmau and ‘Bon Jovi MH’ who were the FEI U-25 Champions: winning the U-25 Intermediate II, U-25 Grand Prix and U-25 Grand Prix Freestyle.
Mary Hanna & ‘Ivanhoe I’ who won the FEI Grand Prix and the FEI Grand Prix Special with scores of 72.870% & 70.766% respectively.
David McKinnon & ‘Estupendo’ who placed first in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 76.340%
Tia Rose McKenzie & ‘Franzisco RW’ who won the Advanced Championship with scores of 73.158% and 74.550% in the 5.2 and 5.3 classes. This combination also won the Advanced Freestyle with 78.375%. They were the recipients of the Dietmar Sprecht Trophy: awarded to the combination aged under 30 years old who achieved the highest combined scores over the 2024 Championships.
Sophie Artup and ‘Charlie Sheen 5’ who took home the Advanced Pony Championship title with scores of 65.439% and 71.667% in the 5.2 and 5.3 classes.
