30th Anniversary for Shepparton World Cup Qualifier

Northern Victorian Show Jumping Club will be celebrating the 30th running of the FEI World Cup Qualifier next weekend at the W B Hunter Reserve, Packham Street, Shepparton. (Shepparton Sports Precinct) where competitors are lining up for over $23,000 in prizemoney over three days of competition jumping.

NVSJC President – Adam Prime said the Hunter Group World Cup Class on Saturday afternoon (from 4pm) which is the headline event of the three-day showjumping festival, has attracted a world class field of nominations. 

Back to defend his 2013 title is Young Rider, Tom McDermott from Mulgoa Valley, NSW, who will be looking at repeating his success on his newly acquired Airtime Z (reported as a 21st birthday present), this horse won the Talent Spotter for young horses with QLD rider/trainer Paula Hamood in 2012.

Other riders included in the nominations include, Western District accountant & 2012 winner, Tim Clarke, current Australian Senior Showjumping Champion, Dave Cameron (winner of last night’s Wodonga FEI World Cup class), NVSJC President, Adam Prime, previous Olympic representatives, Russell Johnstone, Vicky Roycroft (who has made a return to Victoria after an absence of several years), and Jeff Bloomfield.  Competitors from the states of QLD, SA & WA are also well supported and seeking the prestigious winner’s prize cheque of over $1800, part of the total prizemoney of $7,520.

The three day festival will see horse/rider combinations from up-coming Juniors to seasoned competitors who mark Shepparton on their calendar as a high priority event to compete at each year.

Although the event does not start until Friday 14th November, the venue will be a hive of activity from Tuesday onwards, many of the interstate competitors travelling from the Wodonga Showjumping Festival which concluded last night (Saturday) are set to start arriving Monday afternoon, and will be available for interviews.

WHEN: Friday, November 14 to Sunday, November 16 from 7:30 am each day. World Cup Class approximately 4pm Saturday.

WHERE: W B Hunter Reserve, Packham St, Shepparton.

ENTRY: Free for all three days, catering provided, extensive trade stalls, bring your own rug or chair
