Australia fourth at Fontainebleau Nations Cup
The Australian team of Andrew Hoy (Cheeky Calimbo), Chris Burton (Haruzac) and Bill Levett (Improvise) competed in the opening round of the FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series for 2016 finishing fourth in a field of nine nations.
The Aussie trio started the Fontainebleau (FRA) competition strongly, holding down first place after the dressage phase. With only a small 1.9 penalty advantage over Germany and 3.8 penalty lead over France the competition was of the highest standard and an unfortunate run out on cross country from Hoy moved the team into fourth position.
The team went on to secure fourth position overall after Hoy and Cheeky Calimbo jumped a clear round, Levett and Improvise had one rail down and Burton and Haruzac knocked two rails.
Individually Bill Levett was the best placed of the Aussies finishing in 8th positon overall.
