Australia leading Houghton Hall Eventing Nations Cup
Australia leads the Houghton Hall CICO3* Eventing Nations Cup with the dressage and show jumping phases now complete.
The team of Andrew Hoy (Rutherglen), Sam Griffiths (Beaurepaire Nemo), Tim Boland (GV Billy Elliot) and Kevin McNab (Wonham What Next) pulled together to produce strong performances during the first two days of competition for an overall team score of 131.9. The team has a marginal lead over Germany which has a combined 135.5 and Great Britain which has 137.6 penalties.
Individually two members of the team occupy top ten positions with Griffiths currently in fifth position thanks to a clear jumping round. Hoy is riding his London 2012 Olympic horse Rutherglen and the pair are in sixth position, also producing a clean round in the show jumping.
The CICO3* will conclude on Sunday with the cross country.
