Australia’s National Performance Director for Eventing, Prue Barrett, said events such as the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series were pivotal to building successful teams for major international championships.
“Events such as Aachen replicate the competitive environment that riders will face if selected for a WEG or Olympic Games team, making them a crucial part of Australia’s preparation for these events.”
“They also allow riders to benefit from the full range of support services that are available to Australian team members, such as veterinary and coaching support,” Barrett said.
Also representing Australia at this year’s World Equestrian Festival will be vaulter Krystle Lander and driver Boyd Exell, who will be aiming for his fifth successive driving title at this event.
The World Equestrian Festival at Aachen will run from 21 – 30 June.
