Australian Showjumping Championships 2014
The 2014 Australian Showjumping Championships concluded today with an exciting finish in the Senior Championship class. Dave Cameron & RR Dyranta were crowned Australian Senior Champions narrowly beating out Tim Clarke & Caltango.
Going into the final round there was less than a rail between the top three competitors but Cameron kept his cool under pressure jumping clear to win the title.
The ASJC was lucky to secure internationally renowned course designer Luc Musette from Belgium, Musette is a regular on the showjumping circuit designing for the Global Championships Tour.
Earlier in the day Tom McDermott and Statford Delight took out the Australian Young rider Championship. Tom also took out second place in the class with his mount Diamond B Jimmy Choo. This is second year in a row that McDermott has taken out the Young Rider title and was pleased with his results “I was really happy with my both my horses today and I was pretty happy to take this title out in my last year in the Young Rider class”
The Australia Junior Champion was 14 year old Jasmine Dennison on Bubble and Squeak in another close contest. Dennison snatched the title from Madeline Sinderberry by 1 point in a thrilling finish. Jasmine with delighted with her win “I was ecstatic with how he jumped today, I was a bit nervous going into the arena but he jumped really well. It is such a great event; the atmosphere out here was great”

The scene has been set for the most exciting final Day across all 3 major title classes with the leaderboard expecting some rattling as the classes get underway.
The young rider teams event was won by NSW ahead of South Australia, Qld 3rd and Victoria in 4th Place.
Tom McDermott reins supreme in the Young rider class going in to the final with 2 horses in the top 2 spots. Only 3 rails seperate the top 15 riders in the class.
Tayla Howell in the Juniors riding FP Outlaw has less than one rail separating her from the top 10 riders in this class. She is closely followed by Jasmin Dennison from Victoria on Bubble and Squeak and Matilda Alexander on Dreamtime Invader.
Tim Clark on everyone’s favorite mare Caltango will set out to hold top spot ahead of David Cameron on RR Dyranta with Tom McDermott on Airtime Z with only 2 rails separating this trio.
The day is set for fine weather, great jumping and an intensity not seen at the Aus Champs across all levels for many years.
