Booth 5th in Individual Championship

Emma Booth has narrowly missed a start in Friday's Freestyle after finishing fifth in the Grade 2 Individual Championship at the RIo 2016 Paralympic Games.

Riding to a Individual Championship result of 69.914 per cent with her horse Zidane, Booth's performance was a noticable improvement on her result from the Team Test in which she scored 65.765 per cent.

With scores from each event contributing to qualification for the Freestyle it means Booth's Rio jouney ends here, but the 25 year old has plenty to take away from the journey.

"We've experienced some incredible highs and lows but ultimately it has been the most amazing experience of my life and a privilege to have worn the green and gold uniform and forever be known as a Paralympian," said Booth.

"I'm over the moon with the improvement we showed in such an intimidating arena. Zidane was much more focused on me (today). I was so pleased with my ride and couldn't be happier with my boy. We even received a big, beautiful ribbon."

With Grade 3 riders Sharon Jarvis and Katie Umback also missing the Freestyle, the Aussies now turn their attention to supporting Lisa Martin who will ride for a medal in the Grade 4 Freestyle beginning at 11:10pm AEST.

Australia finished the team's event in 9th position.
