Business Operations Manager: An opportunity to be part of EA’s future success

Equestrian Australia (EA) are looking for an experienced operations professional to manage and locate shortfalls; design and implement successful operational systems and financial processes within the organisation. The duties outlined below are indicative and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational support to ensure the organisation’s internal processes and business objectives are met.

Business Operations Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement internal business operations systems, review the current internal HR processes and internal policies.
  • Service as the primary contact for HR matters for staff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for servicer providers and software partners, championing improvements to operational management systems, process, and practices.
  • Deliver succession plan for the organisation in terms of intellectual property.
  • Lead initiatives for process optimisation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the implementation of the organisational IT strategy with project support
  • Review and provide recommendations for effective implementation of policy’s including: Expense manager; IT acceptable use; reserves delegation and investment policies; Human Resources policies.
  • Ensure all business operations are conducted in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Review the percurrent processes and optimise.
  • Collaborate with external providers to ensure consistency and reliability across all financial aspects of the organisation.
  • Lead on the insurance renewals and collaborating with the insurance company to deliver efficient renewals for members
  • Understanding and support for organisation’s financial requirements– act as conduit between the accountant and the organisation as well as support departments in delivering budgets and KPIs.

Applicants will possess a minimum of 7 – 10 years’ experience in similar type of role. Excellent leadership skills and experience managing / liaising with business units.  Additionally, applicants will possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail.  Ideally but not essential hands-on experience using Xero and a knowledge of Equestrian sports would be an advantage.
