Crowd pleasing field hits Exhibition Eventing at Equitana
Equestrian Australia is proud to announce the high quality field that will contest the Exhibition Eventing Final held as part of the Equestrian Grand Final at the up and coming EQUITANA. The field is rich in calibre comprising the young and the old, the imported and the home-grown and the Nationals and Internationals.
Australian Olympians Shane Rose, Megan Jones and Sonja Johnson, along with Germany’s Olympic and World Equestrian Games gold medallist Dirk Schrade will be putting their experience to the test. Schrade will be flying the flag of his home nation when he competes with Halcyon Days, an imported German mare loaned to him by Alex Townsend.
Wallaby Hill qualifying champion Tim Boland who has recently returned from an overseas stint will be competing on his newly imported 8 year old mare Wild Duchess. 2016 Rio Squad rider Teegan Ashby has loaned two of her horses - Rockingham No Reason and Waitangi Password - to interstate Olympians Megan Jones and Sonja Johnson. The youngest rider to compete in the class is 17 year old Elizabeth Crosato aboard her 20 year old gelding thoroughbred Koyuna Bandit.
Last year Megan Bryant loaned her handy stockhorse Talinga Cavalier to Megan Jones, but this year Bryant is having a crack herself following the combination’s success at the Wallaby Hills qualifier earlier this year. The Melbourne Royal qualifying champion Katja Weimann and BP Cosmopolitan are planning a quick turnaround from the Australian International Three Day Event CCI4* the week before.
