Double victory for Wood at Bromont
Aussie Ryan Wood has two reasons to celebrate after winning the CCI3* and CIC3* at Bromont (Canada) overnight.
Partnering with the horse Woodstock Bennett in the CCI3*, the US based Wood won the class on his dressage score of 53.70. The pair was ranked sixth after the dressage phase but clear cross country and show jumping rounds secured victory for the pair.
It was a similar story in the CIC3* with Wood and horse Frankie (pictured left) moving from sixth position after the dressage phase to win the overall class after strong cross country and show jumping rounds. His dressage score of 51.60 increased only by 0.40 time penalties in the cross country after Wood rode to a second clear show jumping round at this event.
"It was a fantastic weekend at Bromont with the Australians getting up to win all four FEI divisions," said Wood. "Dom Schramm won the CCI*, Boyd Martin was 1st and 2nd in the CCI** and myself winning both the CIC and CCI***. It was great hearing Advance Australia Fair played 3 times on foreign soil."
