EA Health and Safety Wrap Up for 2021
Well only a few more days now and the holiday season begins.
Health & Safety has certainly moved to a proactive space for Equestrian Australia. It is wonderful to have the ongoing support and share the passion from our members, officials, committees, clubs, volunteers, as well as State, Discipline and EA Board representatives, in striving for best-practice and to be leaders of Equestrian in Australia.
We are pleased to share with you some of our most outstanding milestones for 2021:
- Forming our first National Health and Safety Committee
- Sport Australia’s glowing 2021 Audit report of the progress of EA in National Health and Safety developments and implementation of the Eventing Coronial Recommendations
- Participation in the first EA Health and Safety survey - view the National Health and Safety Participants Survey Findings and Report 2021
- Achieving improved engagement and communications with our States, Discipline Committees and Stakeholders
- Securing ongoing Safety funding from Sport Australia
- Roll-out of the EA National incident reporting processes and concussion management program
- Expansion of the EA National Health and Safety team to two employees
- Delivery of the first EA National Health and Safety Conference (online)
...and so much more!
We would also like to acknowledge Mr Terry Snow for his financial support in helping us to develop and implement safer practices for Eventing in Australia.
In 2021 we achieved some big Health & Safety goals and it is so pleasing to wind up this year on a positive note.
EA National Health and Safety Manager, Meredith Chapman and Health and Safety Officer, Victoria Farr, would like to wish all members and everyone previously identified the warmest of Christmas greetings, enjoy the holiday festivities and stay safe. We look forward to seeing you, working with you and sharing our new Health and Safety projects in 2022.
Please note we will return to usual business operations on the 10th January 2022, however, if you need to contact us, please email [email protected] as we will continue to monitor this email.
