EA High Performance Program Welcome Nick Hunter as Para-Equestrian Lead
Equestrian Australia (EA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Hunter to the role of EA High Performance Para-Equestrian Lead.
The newly created role has been introduced following the EA High Performance Program’s Tokyo 2020 review process, where it was deemed necessary to provide additional leadership support to ensure that the Para-Equestrian Program remains on track to achieve its identified podium objectives in Paris 2024.
In his new role Nick will be responsible for coordinating the EA High Performance Para-Equestrian Program, including designing and implementing the Program strategy and planning, together with managing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. The role will work closely with the EA High Performance Para-Equestrian Panel and the EA High Performance staff.
Nick brings with him extensive experience in the sporting sector including over 25 years’ engagement with Government supported sport programs where he supported them to deliver desired performance outcomes and ensured that the Government’s investment interests and requirements were met. This also includes 16 years as a Performance Manager and Consultant at the Australian Institute of Sport, as well as considerable experience in Paralympic sports and multiple attendances at Olympic and Paralympic Games.
EA High Performance Director, Chris Webb, said:
“We are pleased to welcome Nick Hunter to the EA High Performance Team in the Para-Equestrian space. The sporting governance experience that Nick brings to the role is unparalleled and we are confident the Para-Equestrian Program will continue to grow under his leadership.”
