EA VAULTING RULES REVIEW TIMELINE
The EAVC would like to publicise the following timelines in order to ensure better understanding and communication around rule changes.
The FEI rules are updated from time to time and usually take effect 1st January. Any FEI links/references in the EA rules take effect at the time the FEI rule change takes effect.
FEI Rules Review Timeline:
- MARCH – NFs to propose new rules to FEI
- JULY – 1st Draft from FEI to NF for consultation (6 weeks to review)
- AUG/OCT – FEI final draft to NF including explanation as to the non-acceptance of proposals received by NFs
- NOV – Adopted by the FEI
- JAN (1st) – applicable changes endorsed by EAVC and effective in accordance with FEI timelines.

National Rules Review Timeline:
NOV – Call for EA National Rule change suggestions from the public (membership, Judges Reference Group, State Committees)
- Suggestions to be returned to EA & EAVC Chair
- Suggestions forwarded to Vaulting Judges Co-ordinator
FEB/MAR – Vaulting Judges Forum held
- Recommendations from Judges Forum to be made to EAVC
APRIL – EAVC to approve recommended changes
MAY – Approved recommendations distributed to State Committees for feedback
JULY – Feedback received
AUG – EAVC review feedback and finalise approved rule changes
OCT (1st) – Marked up version of Rules with approved changes on EA website
JAN (1st) – Rules changes effective
Agreement, in principle, by the committee that rules changes only occur as of 1st January. However, the option for reviewed rules to become effective 1st July will remain, as there may be some instances where this is in the best interest of the sport.
