EA Welcomes New Pathways Officer - Coaching

Equestrian Australia wishes to thank Amy McGregor who has diligently filled the role of Administrator Pathways Officials and Coaches for just over a year. Amy has worked hard and dedicated much of her time and valuable expertise to the area of coaching, while simultaneously working with Officials. We are pleased to announce Amy is staying with us, moving full-time into the role of Pathways Officer - Officials.

We extend a welcome to new staff member Kellie Hayes, who is stepping into the role of Pathways Officer - Coaching.

Kellie has extensive experience as a sports administrator, with 16 years of experience managing and building relationships in multi-sport environments, from grass-roots to high performance.

During her career to date, she has delivered sport services to high performance athletes and coaches, national and state sporting organisations, local associations and community-based clubs.

Kellie's experience includes working for 13 years at the NSW Institute of Sport, coordinating sport services for high performance athletes and coaches to achieve world-class results at four Summer Olympics, three Commonwealth Games, and multiple Junior and Senior World Championships.

More recently, Kellie worked at Sutherland Shire Council, where she managed the infrastructure needs of 80,000 sporting participants utilising limited resources. It was her role to support sport in the development of strategic plans that increased participation, improved governance and align this with infrastructure planning.

Kellie is excited to bring her years of experience to Equestrian Australia, where she is looking forward to combining her professional skills with her personal passion – horses!

A love of horses started when Kellie was only a few months old. Her family owns property in the hinterland of Coffs Harbour, where she learnt to ride (almost before she could walk) on her great grandfather's gorgeous retired 40-year-old draught x stock horse.

In Kellie's words, "my riding skills have not improved much but my love of horses and pleasure riding has not dimmed". She feels fortunate to be able to share her passion with her two daughters (6 & 8), who are learning to ride on the five beautiful young Brumbies her family now own.
