Emma Dougall third after Dressage at Luhmuhlen CCI4*

28 year old Emma Dougall riding Belcam Bear is the best positioned of the Aussies at the conclusion of the dressage phase at Luhmuhlen CCI4*.

This is the first time this combination has stepped out at this level and their score of 40.60 has them sitting in third position overall which is just 1.6 penalties off the lead.

Fellow Rio hopeful Bill Levett is ranked seventh riding Improvise and will begin the cross country phase with 45.50 penalties. Levett’s second entry, Alexander NJ, is on 52.60 penalties and is currently occupying 21st position.

“Womble (Improvise) warmed up very well and I felt did a solid, mistake free test,” said Levett.

“Alex scored 52.6 in his dressage with lots of positives for his first four star.

“The cross country course looks great and the ground is good – currently taking the wet weather well,” said Levett.

Seven-time Olympian Andrew Hoy is in 12th position with his London Olympic Games mount Rutherglen, the pair scoring 48.50 penalties for their dressage test. In the CIC3*, Hoy’s entry Cheeky Calimbo is ranked second after a very strong performance resulted in a score of 35.30.

Kevin McNab is also competing in the CIC3* and is in 25th position with the horse Step Forward.
