Four Aussies in action on day one of MMBHT

Chris Burton is the leading Australian after the first day of dressage at the 2015 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials (#MMBHT).

Burton and his mount TS Jamaimo are currently ranked 10th having scored 47.7 for their dressage test.

Fellow Aussie, the 2010 Badminton Champion Paul Tapner, had the honour of going first and he and his World Equestrian Games mount Kilronan are in 11th position on the leaderboard with a score of 47.8.

Defending champions Sam Griffiths and Paulank Brockagh are also within reach of the top 10 having received a score of 48.2 to put them in 13th position.

Griffiths was happy with his start to the competition.  

“Really pleased with Paulank Brockagh’s work today, she always tries her hardest.

“All to play for on Saturday- a whole other day.”

Andrew Hoy riding Lanfranco was also in action on opening day and the combination received a score of 63.7 which has them sitting in 39th position.

#MMBHT dressage continues on Friday where Australia’s Bill Levett, riding his WEG 2014 mount Shannondale Titan will get his first opportunity in front of the judges and Griffiths and Hoy will be back in action with their London 2012 Olympic horses Happy Times and Rutherglen. Paul Tapner will also start Indian Mill, which is the first CCI4* start for this horse.
