Jordyn Faint, 2015 Remi Stud Scholarship winner
The Remi Stud Young Rider Scholarship is an annual scholarship and is awarded to a very deserving Young Rider who has the talent and dedication in either Dressage or Eventing but needs financial assistance to purchase a horse of their dreams. Every year the dream comes true for one lucky young rider as the scholarship includes the ownership of a purpose bred weanling foal by one of the best performed Hanoverian stallions in Australia.
The 3rd winner in 2015 was Jordyn Faint from Londonderry, NSW, an eventer of only 15 years old. In 2015 she was already showing talent and dedication beyond her years as a member of the NSW Junior Eventing Squad with her other horse Jackpot so her Remi Stud foal Remi Fall Guy S is in very good hands. He is expected to go under saddle later this year.
“Guy is now rising 3yo and will be broken in towards the end of the year by Tor Van Den Berge. He has grown into a delightful, cheeky personality who has become very endearing to everyone when they meet him.
If we were ever in doubt of Guy’s ability to jump, he satisfied our curiosity when he jumped out of his paddock over a tall farm gate from a standstill.
One of his best friends is our 3-year-old border collie, Neako. They chase each other with and without their ball relentlessly for hours. We have a lot of different farm animals at home and he has become very accustomed to being around alpacas, piglets, cows as well as chickens and ducks and takes it all in his stride.
I was very lucky when Guy first arrived as his basic training was well established, and although I am now working full time, I enjoy coming home to spend time with him. He is great to lead, tie up, wash and our farriers love him because he is so well behaved.
I can’t wait for him to be ready to start his career, firstly in the Dressage arena and then Eventing.
Thank you so much Cheryl and all the Remi Stud Young Rider Scholarship sponsors again for this once in a lifetime opportunity."
