Kelly Slater wins Young Rider Jumping Series
Kelly Slater of New South Wales has taken out the 2013 Tekna Young Rider Selection Series.
The 21 year old was one of five riders to post two clear rounds in the series but her combined time from both rounds was the quickest of all contenders.
Kelly is the daughter of accomplished show jumping rider Sharon Slater. In 2013 Kelly represented Australia in the Young Rider Oceania challenge.
To be eligible for the Tekna Young Rider series title, riders had to contest a minimum of two series events. Close to 33 riders met this criterion and a further 67 riders took part in the series.
In an effort to standardise the competition, the same course is offered at each series event and in 2013 the course was designed by FEI course designer Peter Haese.
The Tekna Young Rider Series provides up and coming talent with the opportunity to gain valuable competition experience.
As the winner of the series Kelly wins a Tekna product pack. For more information about Tekna please visitwww.teknasaddlery.com.au
