Let the National Interschool Championships begin

The draws are up, the plaits are in and over 500 equestrian combinations are currently conducting their final preparations to compete in the National Interschool Championships hosted by Equestrian Victoria.  Today is set aside for the trot up, opening ceremony and welcome dinner as well as allowing weary Interstate horses and riders to settle in.

Over the next four days the representatives will compete in a variety of disciplines including  Eventing, Dressage, Showjumping, Combined Training and Showhorse. All combinations have been selected to represent their state following their success at their State Interschool Championships, creating first class fields across all disciplines. At the conclusion of all events overall champions will be named along with the champion state and other special awards will be announced.

The Voice Kids contestant Grace Laing will be performing at the opening ceremony of the Championships. Grace comes from a very horse orientated family having competed at pony club and interschool events in the recent years.
