"I grew up in a culture of volunteering. My parents worked in kindergarten, school & Pony Club Committees. I am passionate about the sport of Eventing. The people I work alongside are amazing and that makes it worthwhile. In this day and age too many people tap on their keyboards moaning about how things should be done. Get out from behind that computer screen and pick up a few rails, sit on a jump for a few hours or join a Committee and help shape your sport!"
Janet Houghton is Chair of the Victoria Eventing Committee. She works with the Victorian Squads to give riders an environment where they learn and feel supported. She is also the Event Director of the Saddleworld Melbourne 3 Day Event. Every June, Queen’s birthday long weekend, the finest horse riders in the country arrive at the picturesque Werribee Park precinct, to compete at Victoria’s premier eventing competition.
