Position Opening: Para Performance Pathways Lead
Equestrian Australia’s (EA's) Para High Performance Program leads and manages the national para equestrian system, including the preparation and campaign management of EA’s national para equestrian teams. The program is funded by the Australian Institute of Sport to deliver sustainable performance outcomes at the Paralympic Games. It also works with EA’s Para Dressage National Discipline Committee to develop and deliver strategies for the growth of the sport nationally.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with state and industry stakeholders, Paralympics Australia and EA staff to activate strategies that support the para dressage performance pathway
- Provide advice and operational support to the Para High Performance Program to identify the gaps and potential opportunities in the para athlete and coach pathways, including at entry level, and then implement solutions
- Reference reliable talent identification, classification profiling and confirmation methods to target and then provide opportunities to people with a disability within the community to enter the para dressage athlete pathway
- Monitor the progress and support the development of athletes and coaches who are in the para dressage pathway
- Develop and implement resources for EA’s state member associations and clubs to use for enabling increased access for para dressage athletes to participate, develop and compete
- Coordinate Equestrian Australia’s athlete classification program, including the program’s compliance with Paralympics Australia’s classification requirements, arranging the annual classification calendar, coordinating national and international classification opportunities, coordinating classifiers and maintaining EA’s classification master list.
- Operate within approved budgets and follow all EA policies and procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by the Para High Performance Lead
