Showjumpers Jump for Support at ASJC
During the recent Australian Show Jumping Championships competitors raised funds for breast cancer one jump at a time.
Saturday was the designated ‘Pink Day’ which saw 100 highly decorated competitors take part in the 110cm class to raise funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Brittany Withers was crowned the winner following two speedy rounds on King Leo. Emily Hill & Marena Comet were hot on her heels with less than a millisecond separating the two combinations.
There were several novelty prizes on offer including best dressed and ‘most pink ladies sprayed on a horse’ which was won by Airlie Robinson who raised $2,200 for the pink ladies that she sprayed on her stallion for the day.
A prize pool valued at more than $15,000 was donated including a Stubben saddle which was auctioned off for $4,200 before the class.
The initial target was to raise $5,000 for the BNCA and the event has far exceeded this having raised $15,783 thanks to the generous support from competitors, supporters and owners.
