Success for Australia in the World Endurance Championships
The EA and the EA Endurance Committee congratulates the Australian Endurance Team on its success at the recent Longines FEI World Endurance Championships held in Samorvin, Slovakia on the 16 – 19 September. To achieve a 4th placing in this very competitive event was outstanding and a real testament to the solid selection process that was implemented for this Championship. The team had 3 riders complete the fast 160km track – Sasha Laws-King riding Oso Edith, Jodie Salinas on Koela De La Dour and Alexandra Toft on Dream Dancer te – with the riders crossing the line together in a strong and united finish. Commiserations to Rebecca Pinder on Safwa and Ben Hudson on Oso Cap Braveheart who did not finish but who continued to support the team throughout the event.
The Team was led very strongly by Andrew Kettlewell (Chef) and Naomi O’Shaughnessy (Assistant Chef) and supported by Team Vet Narelle Cribb and Assistant Team Vet Albert Sole-Guitart. Congratulations also to the owners, grooms and crew assisting each of the riders and horses who worked tirelessly in the lead up to and during the event to make sure their riders were fully supported.
This success is the first step in the strategic plan to see Australia attain a podium finish in international Championship events and represents many hours of contribution and hard work from all facets of the EA’s endurance support network.
