Team Announcement: Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup: Odense

The Australian team for the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup event in Odense (DEN) to be held from 18-22 May has been announced. 

Horse and rider combinations are as follows (in alphabetical order):

• Julia Hargreaves & Blinky Bill
• Steven Hill & Yalambi’s Bellini Star
• Jamie Kermond  & Yandoo Oaks Constellation
• Phillip Lever & Comme II Faut

Update 19 May - Australia has drawn eighth in the order of go. More 

Two combinations will also compete as individuals:

• James Arkins & Rossthwaite Vigilante
• Merrick Ubank & Alantinus

The team will be supported by Chef d’Equipe Stevie Macken and Team Vet Dr. Robin Bell.

The Odense event is the second of three nomination events for identified combinations seeking selection to the Australian team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Read more

“Odense CSIO presents another great opportunity for Australian Jumping riders," said High Performance Manager Chris Webb.  

"The concept leading into Rio for inclusion into Nations Cup events is to expose the riders and horses to the team environment similar to what they may experience in Rio.  Odense will be another step forward for the preparation of eligible combinations.

"Odense will see Jamie Kermond, Phil Lever and Julia Hargreaves back representing Australia for the first time in 2016.  This is an exciting time for the individuals, the team and also supporters back at home." 

The Nations Cup competition will run Friday 20 May at 4.30pm CEST (Saturday 12:30am AEST) and the Grand Prix Sunday 22 at 3pm CEST (Sunday 11pm AEST)
