[VIDEO] Dave Cameron, World Cup rider and ambassador of the Sydney International Horse Trials

At the beginning of March, #SydHT introduced the 4 Ambassadors of the 2015 Sydney International Horse Trials. Shane Rose, Teegan Ashby, Dave Cameron and Jess Brown.

Here is the video of the second ambassador Dave Cameron. The showjumping rider who was awarded Jumping Athlete of the year at the NSW Equestrian awards in March talks about his career, his talented horse RR Dyranta and explains that he loves the Sydney International Horse Trials because it gathers 2 sports: Eventing and Showjumping in the same place !

Showjumping program :

  • Greater Sydney CSI World Cup Jumping series Qualifier.

This competition is the highest level of ShowJumping with jumps up to 1.60m high and 2.0m wide. The show draws horses and riders from all over Australia, the elite athletes of the sport. It is one of few World Cup Shows that is held indoors giving our horses and riders great experience in such a different environment. Sunday is the big day hosting the World Cup qualifier competition along with a number of other classes as the curtain raisers to this special class. Australia hosts a number of World Cup qualifiers throughout most states in Australia and a leader board is kept to ultimately have a winner who may go onto the World Cup Final overseas. This is a hotly contested series with riders travelling from State to State to try and gain points to take out the Australian Series. The FEI World Cup Jumping Series comprises of 13 leagues across all continents. The top placed rider from each series is invited to attend the World Cup Jumping final.
