Australia jumps into FEI Nations Cup

Our Australian team representatives have completed the first round of the FEI Nations Cup final held in Barcelona, Spain.

The Australian combinations were among 15 other countries aiming to make their mark and claim the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Final title.

The Australian team includes;

GRAHAM, Amy

Bella Baloubet

HARGREAVES, Julia

Vedor

KERMOND, Jamie

Quite Cassini

TOPS-ALEXANDER, Edwina

Ego van Orti

 The first round of competition proved challenging with only 9 clear rounds recorded. Following the first round the Netherlands are currently sitting in first position, with Sweden in second and Belgium in third.  A series of unfortunate rails stopped our Australian team from progressing to the Nations Cup Final, and instead they will be setting their sights on tomorrow’s consolation round.  “Today was not our day” announced Edwina on her Facebook page following her 20 penalties accumulated in the first round. Jamie Kermond (Quite Cassini) and Amy Graham (Bella Baloubet) had one rail each in the first round and Julia Hargreaves (Vedor) accumulated 16 penalties. James Paterson – Robinson  (Vincente) was named the team reserve and will be competing as an individual.

Last year’s Nations Cup final saw the French team claim the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Jumping trophy, with the Brazilian team in 2nd place and Ireland reining in 3rd place.

Our Australian team members will join the US, Spain, France, Qatar and Venezuela in tomorrow’s competition.
