Stephanie Tucker wins Perth World Cup

October 2015 saw the return of World Cup Jumping to Perth. After a six year gap there was much excitement leading into the World Cup Class that was incorporated with the WA State Jumping Championships.

Saturdays Trot-Up saw a standard to challenge our Eventing friends. The horses shined and looked magnificent but the riders really stood out. Sophie Ahmat in her beautiful lace dress and Leon Carroll in his suit took out the Best Presented Trot-Up Awards, kindly donated by Adina Watches.

With a number of the 10 starters making their World Cup debut it was an excellent challenge set by Course Designer Peter Cooke for the horses and riders. The class started with a super clear round by Leon Carroll and his horse Delisch, to the applause from the large crowd and VIP marquee. Followed by a clear round by David Dobson on Concord Ego Z,  Chad Donovan on Chicago and Stephanie Tucker on Oaks Redwood. Caitlyn Bolger on Danzastar jumped clear with only a time fault, and Sophie Ahmat on Renaissance NZPH, David Dobson on Oaks Zena and Shawn Squire on Maxi Mouse only having a single rail.

In round two Peter Cooke puts forward the next test. A few more rails came down but the horses jumped super and the riders rode well on what was an excellent grass surface for the World Cup.

David Dobson on Concorde Ego Z jumped a second clear round in a quick time showing why he has been a leading Western Australia rider for so many years. Last to jump, Stephanie Tucker on Oaks Redwood. Taking a fraction of a second off each jump going around, the crowd watch with excitement as she finished on a double clear, 3.51 seconds quicker than David.
