Wrap-up of the EA 2016 Show Horse Nationals

FRIDAY

Accustomed to doing well at the nationals, Francesca Christie rode Heather Potts' well performed, 'Pemberly Dior' to claim the 2016 Large Pony Championship.

Emily Lord representing NSW rode Tia Richardson's, 'Pearlz' to claim the National Child's Small Show Hunter Hack 15-16hh Championship.

Becky Roberson from NSW rode 'Langtree Dignify' to claim the National Rider Under 12 Years Championship.

Indianna Shepheard made it a Victorian double when she rode her, 'Emyella Touch of Heaven' to take out the Medium Show Pony Runner Up award.

Briony Randle rode Kellie Withers' very well performed, 'Royalwood Cat Call' to claim the 2016 National Medium Show Pony Championship.

Jamie MacPherson rode Ava Braniff's, 'Rhyl Top Hat' to claim the Medium Show Hunter Pony Runner Up award for Victoria.

Vienna Smith rode Claudia McCormick's super successfull, 'Leanda Hanky Panky by Kirreway For All Occasions' to claim his fourth National Medium Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Natasha Moody rode Christy O'Sullivan's, 'Langtree Just Divine' to claim the Small Show Hunter Championship for Victoria.

Representing South Australia, Ella Manning rode Isabella Schiller's, 'Dunelm Fashion Star' to claim the Small Show Hunter Pony Runner Up award.

It was a family affair from QLD that took out the Leading Rein Pony 12hh and Under Championship. Holly Taunton is doing the riding and mum, Kristen Bates-Taunton on the end of the line with, 'Mondiso Park It's All About Her' putting her best foot forward.

Very well performed young Victorian rider, Brynie Lee rode her Show Hunter, 'Valentino' to claim the Intermediate Rider 15-17 Years Championship.

Sarah Olsen representing NSW rode Jacinta Ledlin's, 'We Love Lola' to claim the Intermediate Rider 15-17 Years Runner Up award.

Successful young South Australian rider, Kate Kyros rode her, 'Mirinda Princess Perfect' to claim the 2016 National Small Pony Championship.

Riding for NSW, Georgia Dalley rode Darren Berle's, 'Swanreach Enchanted' to claim the 2016 National Small Pony 12hh and Under Runner Up award.

Kate Treneman-Duncan rode her very well performed, 'Owendale Rembrandt' to claim her second National Large Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Well performed young Queensland rider, Riley Kent rode Carmen Jackson's successful, 'Elvonara Park Kandyman' to claim the Large Show Hunter Pony Runner Up award.

Ada Spring from Queensland rode her super, 'Bamborough Mickey J' to claim the Child's Large Pony Championship.

Daizi Plumb rode Christine Nichols' well performed, 'Mirinda Alabaster' to claim the Child's Large Pony 13-14hh Runner Up award.

After a disrupted start, Caitlin Fricker representing South Australia rode well to claim the 2016 National Child's Small Hack Championship riding her delightful, 'Manorvale After Five'.

The South Australian combination of, 'Picturesque Prince' ridden by Abbi Schaefer with Melissa Karutz on the end of the lead line claimed the Leading Rein Pony 12hh and Under Runner Up Award. They were also presented with the Molly Lord Memorial Best Presented award.

Alex Nairn riding for Victoria claimed the Child's Small Hack Runner Up award with her well performed, 'Boyfriend'. At the end of day one, Victoria holds the lead in the state teams competition.

Representing NSW, Michael Glenn rode his own, 'Radford Lodge Grand Design' to claim the 2016 National Large Pony Runner Up award.

SATURDAY

Abbey Towers rode Stephanie Chenery's, 'Eagle Park Achilles' with some help from Stephanie on the end of the line to claim the Leading Rein Show Hunter Pony 12hh and Under Championship for NSW. 

With some help from a beautifully co ordinated Clint Bilson, Layla O'Sullivan rode Christy O'Sullivan's, 'Langtree Just Divine' to claim the Leading Rein Show Hunter Pony 12hh and Under to claim the Runner Up award for Victoria.

Jessica Gacki-O'Sullivan made it back to back National Intermediate Rider 12-14 Years Championships for NSW riding Liz Robinson's, 'Mirinda Monet'.

Ebonie Lee rode 'Morningside Hot Goss' to claim the Intermediate Rider 12-14 Years Runner Up award for Victoria.

Former Victorian, but now representing Queensland, Ali Berwick rode Emma Camilleri's, 'Cruze' to claim the 2016 National Show Hunter Galloway 14.2-15hh Championship.

Representing WA, Chris Lambert rode Paula Ayres', 'Bevanlee Folklore' to claim the 2016 National Show Hunter Galloway 14.2-15hh Runner Up award.

Greg Mickan took home the Small Galloway Championship for Victoria riding Terry van Heythuysen's beautiful, 'Royalwood Black Swan'.

Chanele Hunter-Cooke rode Lyn Warburton's beautiful, 'Daisy Patch Soul Star' to claim the National Small Galloway Runner Up award for Victoria.

Representing NSW, Jess Stalling protege, Brae Digney rode her own, 'Royal Queen of Sefton' to claim the 2016 Child's Small Show Hunter Galloway Championship

Riding for Victoria, Shaylyn McNeill rode her own well performed, 'Christmas Day' to Michael Christie riding for NSW and the sensational , 'Mikimoto' made history by claiming their third consecutive Small Hack Championship and with it the Pauline van Heythuysen Trophy. There have been a number of horses that have claimed two National titles, but Mikomoto is the first to claim three and in consecutive years. Michael is to be praised for the sensitive production of this beautiful but not always easy horse by Encosta Delago.claim the Child's Small Show Hunter Galloway Runner Up award.

Ali Berwick now from Queensland has been having a super show and she rode Emma Barkla's, 'Royal Oak Foreign Affairs' to claim the 2016 Small Hack National Championship Runner Up award.

Edwina Hutton-Potts representing NSW gave a beautiful display of riding aboard her super Rotspon gelding, 'Heathmont Echo' to be declared 2016 National Champion Senior Rider.

Victorian, Tayla Anderson rode her, 'Onyx' by Don Frederico to claim the 2016 National Champion Senior Rider Runner Up award.

It took a good horse to win the Large Galloway Championship and a very good horse did, Victorian representative, Sue Thompson's outstanding, 'Royalwood Opening Night' (by Royalwood Boy Soprano)

Briony Randle rode the very successful Burns and Banks nomination, 'Wesswoods Magic Caste' to take out Reserve in the 2016 National Large Galloway Championship for Victoria.

Popular and successful Victorian rider, Laura Thomas rode her well performed, 'On Fire' to claim the 2016 National Small Show Hunter Hack Championship.

Melissa Karutz representing South Australia rode her, 'Wanted DD' to take out the 2016 Small Show Hunter Hack Runner Up award.

South Australian, Allison Madill had a great day with her, 'Daisy Lane Huntsman' that claimed the 2016 Small Show Hunter Galloway Championship. Earlier in the day, Huntsman was third in the Child's Small Galloway Show Hunter Championship

Jess Stalling has had a terrible week, but she made the most of her appearance at the 2016 National Show Horse and Rider Championships. Looking positively regal in tails, Jess burst in to the arena aboard her 'Taittinger 1' to the sound of "Big Spender', "good looking, so divine", the Shirley Bassey version and it was not a case of would she win, but who would beat the beautifully ridden, theatrical performance, mixing up the music like the freestyle to music this event should be. Taittinger was declared National Champion Large Hack.

Stephen Gladstone rode his beautiful, 'Heartbreaker' to be declared the 2016 National Large Hack Runner Up

Ali Berwick had a spectacular day and finished it off by claiming back to back National Large Show Hunter Hack Championships riding Rebecca Crane's splendid Fisherman's Friend gelding, 'Ribbleton France'

Greg Mickan representing Victoria rode Christine Frost's splendid Thoroughbred, 'Elmdale Park Presidential' to claim the 2016 National large Show Hunter Hack Runner Up award.

SUNDAY

Representing NSW, Sascha Parker-Eade and her charming, 'Owendale Valencia' claimed the 2016 National Child's Medium Show Hunter Pony Championship.

On the added Sunday for the Child's National classes, Georgia Currall from NSW rode, 'Tamlyn Farm Tobias' to take out the National Child's Medium Pony Runner Up award.

Talented young Queensland rider, Riley Kent has had a great weekend with Carmen Jackson's, 'Elvonara Park Kandyman' and claimed the National Child's Large Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Kasey Curral rode Kate Treneman-Duncan's super and successful, 'Owendale Rembrandt' to claim the 2016 National Child's Large Show Hunter Pony Runner Up award.

Representing NSW Shelby Bragg rode her own, 'Salisbury Masterpiece' to claim the 2016 National Child's Large Show Hunter Galloway Championship.

All the way from WA, Orleans Graetz rode her own, 'Redline Classic Edition' to claim the 2016 National Child's Large Show Hunter Galloway Runner Up award.

Representing South Australia, Ella Manning did a wonderful job riding Isabella Schiller's charming four year old, 'Dunelm Fashion Star' to take out the 2016 National Child's Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Representing Queensland, Georgia Cronin rode her delightful, 'Rivington Banknote' to claim the 2016 National Child's Small Show Hunter Pony runner Up award.

Open Champion last night and National Child's Large Show Hunter Hack Champion today. Rebecca Crane's, 'Ribbleton France' is pictured on his lap of honour with Holly Spring in the saddle.

Tayla Wilson rode Troy Wilson's imported and well performed, 'Shakira LP' to the accompaniment of a beautiful Enya melody to claim the 2016 National Child's large Show Hunter Hack Runner Up award.

Representing South Australia, Kate Kyros certainly understands the ups and downs of the showing world from her experience at the 2016 Nationals. However, Kate finished on a very positive note and claimed the National Child's Small Pony Championship riding her own 'Mirinda Princess Perfect'.

Chelsea Taunton rode Kristen Bates-Taunton’s Mondiso Park It’s All About Her to claim the National Child's Small Pony runner up.

Representing NSW, Elizabeth Taylor rode her, 'Mirinda Matinee Magician' out of Rotherwood Matinee to claim the 2016 National Child's Medium Pony Championship

Riding for Victoria, Vienna Smith is pictured aboard Claudia McCormick's well performed, 'Leanda All A Glitter' that was declared 2016 National Child's Medium Pony Runner Up.

Riley Kent also scored for Queensland winning the National Child’s Small Galloway Championship over 14hh & not exceeding 14.2hh on the superbly turned out Gordon Park Supanova owned by Georgia Fairweather

Not to be outshone was Willowcroft Coco Chanel ridden by Hunter Justin Taylor and co-owned with Tonia Taylor to take home the Runner Up in the National Child’s Small Galloway over 14hh & not exceeding 14.2hh

The National Champion Childs Large Galloway over 14.2hh & not exceeding 15hh was won by Laser Encore ridden by Georgia Dailey for Melissa Oven

Runner up Childs Large Galloway over 14.2hh & not exceeding 15hh was won by Allambie Park First Impressions Ridden by Kasey Currall owned by Chelsea Morelli

Nungarra Simply Red and Phoebe Oçonnell had to wait for the last class of the show to take home the National Child’s Large Hack Championship

Followed closely by Aston Martin II ridden by Mikayla Van Kampen for Tyler Harris who took out the Runner Up Child’s Large Hack Championship.

34 classes over 3 days with some amazingly turned out horses and ponies,  lots of smiling faces and a bunch of very deserving prize winners.  Congratulations to everyone who qualified and attended this event.

The winning team was New South Wales on 78 points quite a bit ahead of the runner up Victoria on 54 points.
