The three unranked reserves are as follows:

Australian Eventing Team Chef d’Equipe Stuart Tinney said: ‘Congratulations to the five Eventing combinations announced today going forward to WEG in Tryon in September. As a team we are looking forward to the challenge of the competition ahead, and to hopefully achieving our qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics’.

Remarkably, this is the third Championship team selection in a row for Sam Griffiths and Paulank Brockagh, a feat achieved only twice before by the legendary Gillian Rolton and Peppermint Grove and then more recently by Sonja Johnson and Ringwould Jaguar. The team of five have vast Championship experience amongst them, with all athletes having previously competed in at least one, or in some cases several, World Equestrian or Olympic Games.

Equestrian Australia and the High Performance program look forward to supporting the team in order to achieve the best possible result in Tryon.

The next step for the Eventing Team is to participate in a camp prior to departure for the Games to be held at Hartpury Equestrian College in Gloucester, UK.

The Eventing competition at the World Equestrian Games will commence on the 13th September and conclude on the 16th September. Please join us in wishing our riders the very best of luck!
