EA Health and Safety Notification: Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Due to current worldwide concerns regarding the coronavirus outbreak, EA is currently monitoring World Health Organisation (WHO), FEI and AIS communications and updates daily.
We acknowledge the potential spread of this virus and we are in consultation with our Medical Consultative Group regarding the need for any event changes or disruptions and we intend on keeping you updated, providing advice as needed.
Also, we encourage you to refer to the most current information and advice relevant to high performance sport each day, the link is: https://ais.gov.au/health-wellbeing/covid-19
Please remember most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover.
A reminder for those of you who currently have a fever (high temperature), or are experiencing respiratory conditions (in particularly elderly), especially after travel in the last 14 days, it is advised you do not compete, volunteer or attend an EA event.
If you are concerned you might have or have been in contact with Covid-19, please contact your local doctor and they will be able to advise you further.
‘It’s all about being responsible by taking care of your health and others’.
In addition, EA is currently developing (in consultation with the Medical Consultative Group) a Covid-19 precautionary event outline, to assist organisers and relevant others in maintaining best practice health and hygiene standards for all upcoming events.
