AIS Camp for National Para Squad
Equestrian Australia's High Performance Para Squad off-horse training was held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra last week and was a valuable opportunity for our Para athletes to get together for some training and team building activities.
The camp brought together the National Para-Dressage Squad for training sessions, education workshops and interactive development activities.
From all accounts this was a wonderful experience for our athletes, who as well as finding out more about the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, were able to learn from Paralympians in other disciplines as well as from passionate professionals who specialise in this field.
Nick Hunter, Equestrian Australia's Para-Equestrian High Performance Lead said, "The AIS camp was an excellent opportunity for the National Squad to get together to focus on Paris Paralympic Games preparation away from the competition arena. This included great work in developing the values and standards that the athletes will carry forward through the Games Nomination process and, eventually, to the Paralympic Team.”
