EOI Senior Trans-Tasman - Takapoto NZ

Equestrian Australia has received an invitation to send a Senior Team to New Zealand to compete in the Trans-Tasman Test to be held at the Takapoto Classic 2025, Takapoto Estate, Maungatautari on 18-23 February 2025. 

"ESNZ Jumping feel a lot was gained from the recent Senior Trans-Tasman Test at Willinga Park and are excited to offer this opportunity to be held at a World Class facility within 2 hours of Auckland Airport. Events of this nature are a fantastic opportunity for senior riders to develop, and we would like to see this become an established competition in both NZ and Australia"

Details of the Event: 

• Event – the Takapoto Classic 18-23 February 2025 at Takapoto Estate. 

• Team Size: Four Riders and one Chef d’Equipe 

• Event Type: Senior Team event held over two rounds at 1.45-1.50m under article 264.1 

• Prize money to the winning team $4,000, and second placed $2,000. 

• Australian Team members will be provided with free entry to the Takapoto Classic Gold Tour (EF value $1,500). Prize Money for the winner of the Gold Tour is $27,000 with placings to 6th. The Gold Tour is 1.45 – 1.50m. 

• Team members will be provided with free premium stables and ground fees. (Approx value $500-600) 

• No team entry fee.

For riders coming to NZ, there is also the opportunity to stay on for the Horse of the Year Show in Hastings 4-9 March 2025, where the Horse of the Year Title has total prize money of $80,000 ($20,000 to the winner). The Horse of the Year Show will provide  Australian team riders free stabling, ground charges and access to hospitality areas.
