Equestrian Australia Announces Board Election Results
Equestrian Australia (EA) is pleased to announce the election of two directors to its Board, with Christie Freeman re-elected as Chair and Nicholas Ballard joining as a new director.
Christie Freeman, who will continue her leadership as Board Chair, brings extensive corporate expertise in change management, Six Sigma process improvement, and marketing. Her deep connection to equestrian sports spans multiple roles, including volunteer, administrator, breeder, and competitor. As the former chair of Equestrian Victoria, Christie has demonstrated strong leadership within the equestrian community. She is currently active in Jumping competitions with her homebred mare Quevida and has a background in Eventing. Christie holds a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diplomas in both Management and Psychology.
Nicholas Ballard joins the EA Board with a lifetime of dedication to equestrian sports. His comprehensive experience encompasses roles as a competitor, owner, parent, official, and volunteer, giving him a multi-faceted understanding of the sport's ecosystem. Nicholas has served on the Equestrian Queensland (EQ) Board for the past five years, most recently as Chair and previously as Vice Chair. His leadership has been marked by building effective relationships and promoting sustainable growth within the equestrian community.
We also farewell Lucy Galovicova from the Board and thank her for her significant contributions and the many hours of work she has put into EA over the past two years.
The EA Board welcomes back Christie and looks forward to Nicholas join the Board as it continues in its commitment to maintaining strong governance, ensuring the continued growth and development of equestrian sport in Australia.
