Equestrian Australia Championships 1*, 2* & 3* + AERA
Set in the hills of the picturesque Mary Valley on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is Stirling’s Crossing Equestrian Complex —Australia’s first purpose-built endurance facility ― where we look forward to hosting this year’s Equestrian Australia FEI Championship Event from 4-7 October 2019.
The complex combines state-of-the-art facilities with beautiful, diverse topography and we welcome riders to camp onsite to enjoy the full Stirling’s experience.
The Course
The course is in forestry areas and includes wide open roads as well as fire trails. Many stretches are excellent going where horses can move along, but other sections require cautious riding, looking for hazards such as erosion washouts and vegetation close to the trail. For these, slower speeds and care is necessary.
Short sections of the course are used in both directions and it is important that riders keep to the left when encountering oncoming competitors. Rules of the road apply on forest roads and these require riders to keep to the left-hand side of roads.
Camping and facilities
Stirling’s Crossing Equestrian Complex offers camping for those participating in club events. Each camp site has a water tap and there is limited access to power. The property has a fully air conditioned toilet and shower amenities block and food and coffee vans are available onsite for the duration of the event.
