Australian Eventing Championships Statement on Covid-19
The Wandin Park Association In. met last night to discuss our options regarding the 2020 Horseland Australian Eventing Championships.
Originally stated as a postponement, it is now apparent that we can not be certain of how long the government restrictions will be enforced in regards to COVID-19 and therefore we have no choice but to cancel the event and our 40TH year celebration.
We pride ourselves in only putting on the best show for everyone, and we felt this could not be achieved this year. Thank you to the riders, sponsors, supporters and the Anker family for their support.
Refunds will start rolling our shortly. Please be patent, not only will Nominate be dealing with over 700 refunds from us, but also from other events as well. To help cover some of the costs, we will be retaining a $20 per horse fee. Although this does not cover all our costs incurred already, we understand that this will be a tough time for everyone, so we do not feel right holding on to any more.
We would like to extend a thank you to all the committee and volunteers who have put in a lot of time and effort into this event. A special thank you to Henrik Qvist. He painted almost every single cross country fence himself and was almost finished when we made the announcement on Friday 13/3. Starting early February, he had been at Wandin Park almost every day volunteering his time and for that we are ever so grateful.
We are committee to coming back again bigger and better than every before and look forward to welcoming you to Wandin Park on 19th-21st March 2021.
