National NCAS Committee

Equestrian Australia (EA) has been undertaking a review of all of its National Committees. As part of this review, consideration has been given to the way forward for coach development and the structure that will enable EA to best continue to achieve its objectives of enabling accreditation and providing ongoing development opportunities for coaches and aspiring coaches.

In conjunction with this, as previously advised, EA is currently recruiting the new role of Pathway Manager to focus solely on coaching. Combined with administrative support, this is a significant increase to EA’s resourcing for the coaching area. Coaches are integral to the sport’s growth and providing this increased resourcing within the office reflects the organisation’s desire to concentrate on having a strong national development program to ensure the continued competence and capability of the sport’s coaches.

Consequently, EA has decided to disband the NCAS Committee. The Committee was advised last week and some final activities were completed. From today, the national office will manage coach development and support. All administration related to coaching (including, renewals, reaccreditation and enquiries) will continue to be managed by the EA Office as it has been previously.

EA is grateful for the contribution each member of the NCAS Committee has made and for the role they have played in the development of coaching in equestrian sport.
