Lauren Browne was born in Western Australia but recently moved to Quirindi, New South Wales.
Lauren, who grew up on her family’s farm, started riding at the age of eight when her neighbours would allow her and her siblings to ride their ponies. These occasional pony rides progressed to lessons, which eventually led to Lauren getting her first pony, ‘Mickey’.
In her formative years Lauren attended Bindoon Range Pony Club, Central Midlands Pony Club and Eastern Hills Horse and Pony Club. Although she came from a ‘non-horsey’ family Lauren says she was “fortunate enough to learn many fundamental foundations from these three clubs.” During her time as a member of Pony Club Lauren competed at state, national, and international levels.
In 2007 Lauren represented Australia for the first time at the International Prince Phillip Mounted Games, and then again in 2010 at the International Tetrathlon. Tetrathlon is a team and individual competition organised by Pony Club for its members. It comprises of shooting, swimming, running and riding and is a variant of the Olympic sport Modern Pentathlon.
Ultimately, Lauren made the decision to pursue Eventing, and now works as a full-time rider and coach at her own business, LB Eventing. Lauren was born in Western Australia but now lives in Quirindi, New South Wales.
Currently, Lauren competes at CCI5* level. In 2022 Lauren was a member of the Winning Senior Australian team at the Oceania Championships, aboard Sky's da Limit. On the 23/09/23, Lauren married her long term partner Blake Holden.
