Why Use Accredited Coaches

When it comes to coaching in any sport, a coach’s expertise and credibility are crucial. As a member of a club or sporting organisation, choosing an accredited coach ensures not only high-quality training but also peace of mind. This is especially important in our sport, where the presence of our equine partners adds an extra layer of complexity. While training may go smoothly at times, we all know that challenges can arise. In those moments, wouldn’t you want the reassurance of having a qualified, accredited coach by your side, who knows and understands the EA industry standards.

Nationally Recognised Standards

All EA Accredited coaches have gone through the EA Coaching Pathway to various levels of qualification, whether they are just starting out at Introductory Level or well on their journey through to Level 3. Each coach has been assessed and has undergone a thorough screening process ensuring all documentation is in place, our coaches have received a comprehensive education in coaching principles, techniques, and ethics, equipping them to provide high-quality instruction in a safe environment.

Insurance Protection

One of the most critical aspects of hiring an accredited coach is knowing that they are insured. In the event of an accident or injury, their insurance coverage provides protection for both the coach and the participants. This layer of security ensures that you are not exposed to unnecessary risks while training or competing under their guidance.

First Aid Accreditation

Safety is a top priority in any coaching environment. Accredited coaches hold first aid certification, meaning they are trained to handle medical emergencies promptly and effectively. Whether it's a minor injury or a more serious situation, having a coach with first aid knowledge can make all the difference in ensuring the well-being of athletes and in our case our horses. This includes the knowledge of how to report accidents and incidents through the correct channels via EA Health & Safety Team.

Adherence to Sport Integrity Guidelines

Each of our EA Accredited Coaches must comply to the rules and regulations set by Sport Integrity Australia. These certificates are non-negotiable and must be completed by every Coach in every Sport whether it be netball, football or hockey, and the equine world is no different. These qualifications include Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport, Essential Coaching Skills, Anti-Doping and Clean Sport Certificates, Concussion Training and Annual Coaching Updates to keep current.

EA Coaches are committed to fair play, ethical behaviour, and maintaining a clean sporting environment for our athletes and our horses. Their awareness of anti-doping policies and integrity guidelines ensures that athletes train and compete in a fair and transparent manner.

Working with Children Compliance

For those working with young athletes, accredited coaches have completed state-based Working with Children Checks. This background verification assists in protecting children by ensuring  the coaches are subject to a screening process, therefore providing parents and guardians with reassurance that their children are in safe hands. It also demonstrates a commitment to child safety and well-being.

Choosing an accredited coach is more than just a preference—it’s a necessity for safety, professionalism, and quality coaching. Accreditation signifies expertise, reliability, and a commitment to high standards. By opting for an accredited coach, you ensure that you or your child receives the best training while having the assurance that safety, ethics, and integrity are prioritised. So, when selecting a coach, always verify their accreditation—it’s the key to peace of mind.
