2021 Anti-Doping Policy
The new 2021 Anti-Doping Policy will come into effect on 1 January 2021.
The EA anti-doping policy is the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy and can be found on the Sport Integrity Australia website here
The Australian National Anti-Doping Policy definition of In-Competition is varied to align with the Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) policy definition as follows:
In-Competition: The period commencing one (1) hour before the beginning of the first Horse inspection the day before a Competition in which the athlete/rider is scheduled to participate through to the end of the last Competition at the Event for that athlete/rider or the sample collection process related to such Competition.
All references in the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy to the In-Competition period should read as above.
All members, participants and non-participants in the sport of equestrian are bound by these rules. This includes athletes, support personnel and employees whose employment contracts enables this.
It is important that all members understand their obligations under the new policy. Changes include a new anti-doping rule violation of retaliation, a category of athletes that is lower-level and flexibility related to sanctioning for certain levels of athletes/participants.
