Another Solid Performance from Vaulter Ginger Kennett

Australian Ginger Kennett competed at the prestigious FEI Vaulting World Championships in Bern, Switzerland, last week.

Ginger teamed up with 16 year old gelding Goldjunge and lunger Jacqueline Schönteich for the competition. She competed in the Individual Senior Female class in a line-up of 28 competitors.

When asked about her overall performance at FEI Vaulting World Championships, Ginger said "I am completely elated with my performances and my result. It feels very rewarding to have such wonderful scores after such a short time creating a partnership with Goldjunge."

On the first day of competition, Ginger finished in 23rd place in the Individual Senior Female Compulsory test. She followed that up the next day with the Technical Test and placed 13th. On the fourth day of competition, Ginger placed 14th in the Freestyle Test to Music. Ginger spoke about her performance highlights and said "The Technical Test is something I have put a lot of work into over the past year and I feel this really showed on the world stage. The atmosphere was beautiful in every aspect and I enjoyed bringing my freestyle to life and increasing my degree of difficulty."

Ginger's goal for this year's Championship was to finish on an overall score of 7.5 and that is exactly what she did. In the Individual Senior Female Championship, Ginger placed 16th with an average score of 7.515. This was based on a score of 6.785 in the Compulsory Test, 7.284 in the Technical Test and 7.996 in the Freestyle Test. Ginger went on to say, "My goals were to execute a clean technical round and to convey my freestyle theme with passion and elegance. My biggest goal was to take it one day at a time and soak in the experience as much as possible."

Following on from the World Vaulting Championships, Ginger will head home to Australia for a short break and will then start preparing for the World Cup final in Basel, Switzerland in April 2025.
