Exciting times for Australian Vaulter Ginger Kennett
Ginger Kennett has just ticked off another goal after competing at CHIO Aachen earlier this month and the excitement is only building as she starts her 2024 FEI Vaulting World Championship for Seniors campaign tomorrow in Bern, Switzerland.
On the opening day of competition Ginger finished in 20th place in the Prize of Sparkasse CVIO4* Female Compulsory Test. Later on the Friday, Ginger also contested the CVIO4* Female Technical Test to finish 15th.
In the final class of the Prize of Sparkasse on Saturday, Ginger placed 16th in the CVIO4* Female Free Test to Music. Teamed with horse Goldjunge and lunger Jacqueline Schönteich of Germany, Ginger produced a terrific test to score 7.372.
The 21-year-old's routine was performed to the Julia Stone cover of ‘Beds Are Burning’.
With Saturday’s test added to the Compulsory (6.666) and Technical (6.576) tests completed on Friday, Ginger’s overall average was 6.997 which placed her 15th overall in the big field of 27. Full results HERE.
At the World Championships this week Ginger will once again compete with Goldjunge and Jacqueline Schönteich.
The competition will be fierce with 73 starters, as the World’s best come together to stamp their names in the history books.
