Ryan Wood grew up in Sydney, Australia where he started riding at the age of seven with Bucko, a pony his parents bought from the circus. Ryan competed successfully throughout Australia earning top placings at events such as Melbourne CCI4*, Sydney CCI4*, and Warwick CCI4* before completing his first CCI5* at the age of 19 at Adelaide.
After a successful start to his career in Australia, Ryan decided to make the move to America in 2008 with his horse Koyuna Azgard who inevitably went to the 5* level as well. During Ryan’s early years in the United States, he spent time working for Olympian Phillip Dutton, before opening up his own business, Woodstock Eventing.
Fifteen years later, Ryan has become one of the top event riders in the country, known for his incredibly strong and consistent cross-country record. Ryan and his wife Lillian, now own a training facility in Pennsylvania where they each run successful businesses training and selling horses.
